Mr. Charles S. Barton, 87, 816 Whittle Avenue, long-time resident of Olney died early this morning, March 8, 1965 following a long illness. He was born in Orchardville, Illinois, but moved to Olney at an early age and remained here until his death.

Mr. Barton was a clerk at the Wieland Goudy Hardware Store, until ill health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Olney.

He is survived by his wife, Cassie; two daughters, Mrs. C. P. (Irene) Wilson of Evansville and Mrs. Augustus (Kathryn) Breckenkamp of St. Louis; a son, Charles S. Jr. of New Orleans; two step-children, Mrs. Carl (Lydia) Weston of Olney and Mr. Rolla McWilliams of Hammond; one brother, Harry of Dundas and 9 grandchildren. One son, Jimmy, preceded him in death.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later from the Schaub Funeral Home.
