Marjorie L. Shafer, 80, of Olney died Friday June 19, 1998 at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Shafer was born June 12, 1918 in Richland County the daughter of Milburn and Harriet (Schmoker) Mowrer. She married A. Lee Shafer April 13, 1941.

She was a retired lab secretary at Richland Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney and Richland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of Olney; one son, Bill Shafer and his wife, Pat of Mercer Island, Wash.; one daughter, Mary Beth Dietrick and her husband, John of Chicago; two grandchildren and one step-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mildred.
