Frances Mowrer, 61, Rt. 1, Claremont, died at Richland Memorial Hospital July 10, 1979.  Funeral services at Summers Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Terrell. Burial in Antioch Cemetery southeast of Claremont.

She was born in Edwards County on July 23, 1917 to Ezra Otto and Nettie Ramsey Read. She married Everett Mowrer on April 15, 1939.

Mrs. Mowrer was a housewife and a member of the Elm Street Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Capt. Kurt Mowrer, USAF, stationed at Scott Field, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Anita Spillman, Olney; a brother, Fred Read, Mokena; three sisters, Eva Hough, Olney, Mrs. Ellen Bricker, Olney and Mrs. Geneva Hillard, Evansville, Ind.; her mother, Mrs. Nettie Read, Mokena; six grandchildren; two aunts; one uncle; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her fathers and a brother, Clinton Otto Read.
