Bernard Bohren

Dr. Bernard B. Bohren, 80 of Bradenton, Florida died Sunday, December 4, 1994 in HCA/L.W. Bake Hospital in Bradenton.

Dr. Bohren was a retired professer from the animal science department of Purdue University, where he was a geneticist.

He was born August 15, 1914 in Omaha, Nebraska, son of Ben F. and Jessie (Osterman) Bohren (who spent most of their life in Olney) and lived in West Lafayette until eight years ago. He graduated from Washington State University, the University of Illinois and received his doctorate from Kansas State College.

Dr. Bohren was an international consultant on animal genetics for the United Nations and overseas research centers. He was a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the Poultry Science Association.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Linda ElSheshai of Atlanta, Ohio and Lois Ann Wilhelm of Cincinnati; and a son, James F. Bohren of Lebanon, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Sidney W. Bohren.
