Doris (Hammer) Watson, 80, longtime Boothbay Harbor, Maine resident, died Wednesday, May 18, 1994 at her home on Western Avenue.

She was born in 1914 in Claremont, Illinois, a daughter of William C. and Chloe Pickering Hammer. She attended schools in Illinois, and moved to Tarrytown, N.Y. She worked in New York City.

After her marriage, Mrs. Watson lived in Florida and Rhode Island before moving here in the 1950s.

Her husband, John E. Watson, died previously.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Matilda Hammer of Kankakee, Ill., and Mabel Hammer of Palatine, Ill.; four nephews, a niece, and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A memorial service was held in the summer with a private burial. Arrangements are by Simmons & Harrington Funeral Home.
