Cory A. Hemrich, 33, of Olney, died on Monday, July 25, 2022 at his home. Cory was born on January 24, 1989 in Olney, Illinois, the son of Alvin Hemrich and Amy (Rottinghaus) Lydle.

Cory was a huge fan of baseball and football. When he was younger he dreamed of becoming a sports announcer. He had a large autographed memorabilia collection and had an incredible mind for stats. His two favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys. Cory was also a fan of music, especially the Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Foo Fighters, but he also liked rap. He was a loyal friend and respected those that were loyal to him. Cory loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed time with family. He loved his dog, Coco, and his dad's dog, Kira.

Cory is survived by his father, Alvin R. Hemrich of Olney; mother, Amy Lydle of Olney; brother, Brent Hemrich and wife, Erica, of Belleville, IL; brother, Kyle Hemrich and wife, Misty of Olney; grandmother, Dolores Hemrich of Olney; grandfather, Thomas (Tammy) Rottinghaus Sr. of Noble; uncles, Thomas (Carrie) Rottinghaus Jr. of Olney, Jim (Merla) Hemrich of Georgia, Steve Hemrich of Olney, Vick Hemrich of Olney, and Larry (Theresa) Hemrich of Terre Haute, In; aunt, Judy (Mike) Doersam of Olney; two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Judy Jourdan and his paternal grandfather, James Hemrich, Sr.

Cremation Rites will be accorded, and a visitation will be held for friends and family of Cory on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

Burial will follow the visitation at St. Joseph Cemetery in Stringtown.
