John W. Ameter, 91, of Olney died Saturday, September 15, 2001 at Burgin Manor in Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McDonald officiating with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Ameter was born on June 2, 1910 in Richland County, the son of Herman and Lillie (Meadows) Ameter.

He was a retired maintenance employee from the City of Olney. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ameter is survived by a sister, Winonah Musgrove of Olney and a nephew J.W. Musgrove.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Dr. Monte Musgrove.
