Ruth Alene Travers, 89, of Olney died Monday March 22, 2004 at Mary Burgin's Boarding Home in Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Reverend Burl Shinkle officiating. Burial in Haven Hill Cemetery in Olney.

Mrs. Travers was born on August 5, 1914 in Richland County, the daughter of Stephen Harrison and Cynthia (Cotterell) Richey. She married Lessel Oliver "Buck" Travers on December 25, 1934 in Richland County. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1993.

She was a homemaker and a member of Free Methodist Church in Olney.

Mrs. Travers is survived by a son, Kenneth Travers and his wife, Leota of Olney; a daughter, Marilyn Bennett and her husband, Phil of Topeka, Kans.; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Donna and two brothers, Curtis and Chester.
