Mr. L. R. Pitzer, 71, of Mt. Carmel, died Thursday, September 26,1985 at the Wabash General Hospital in Mt. Carmel. Prior to this he was a patient in a Bioomington, Indiana hospital for two weeks. Services held at Nales Funeral Home in Albion, with Rev. James Crask presiding. Burial in Graceland Cemetery.

Mr. Pitzer was born November 23, 1913, in Richland County, the son of Alonzo and Clara (Roby) Pitzer. He married Eileen Mason August 14, 1937, in Boonville, Indiana.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Albion. In 1983 he retired from the Mt. Carmel Sand and Gravel Company.

He is survived by his wife, Eileen, of Mt. Carmel; two daughters, Mrs. Archie (Sandra) Dees, Bioomington, Indiana, and Mrs. Richard (Lana) Holmquist, of Grand Island, Nebraska; one son, Patric, of Princeton, Illinois; one brother, Lyndell Pitzer of Florida; eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
