Eugene M. Stiff, 97, of Dundas, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Reverend Jeremy Henson officiating. Burial  in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont.

Mr. Stiff was born February 9, 1914, the son of John and Hattie (Hoover) Stiff. He married Theora Williams on February 1, 1941. She survives.

He graduated from Olney Township High School in 1932. He was a retired grain and dairy farmer and was awarded the Richland County Conservation Farmer of the Year award in 1993. He was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church and charter member of Dundas Ruritan Club.

Mr. Stiff is survived by his wife, Theora Stiff, of Dundas; daughter, Mary Lou Walden and her husband, Wayne, of Mt. Carmel; grandson, Chris Walden and his wife, Allison; grandson, Chad Walden and his wife, Sarah; three great-grandchildren, Hadleigh, Ely and Stella; brother, Bob Stiff, of Olney; caregivers, Sue Holland and Linda Hanes; and several nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hattie Stiff; son, Larry Gene; great-granddaughters, Teagan and Tinsley Walden; and brother, Elbert.
