Mabel E. (Tharp) Evans, 86, of Freeport, Illinois and formerly of Olney died on Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Freeport Memorial Hospital. Funeral services at Stasi-Grove Funeral Home in Olney with burial in Ebenezer Cemetery south of Olney.

Mrs. Evans was born on January 25, 1913 in Olney, the daughter of Harley and Bertha (Fleming) Tharp. She married Pearl Evans who preceded her in death.

She was retired from the International Shoe Factory in Olney and was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church, the RMH Auxiliary, HEA and the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Evans is survived by one son, John Evans of Lena; and one grandson, Jeremy Evans of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pearl Evans, two brothers and one sister.
