Edna M. Broyles - Class Of 1932

Edna M. Broyles, 84, of Charleston, formerly of Clay City, died Thursday, April 16, 1998, at her residence.

Services at the Adams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with Reverend Brad Hensen officiating. Burial at Kneff Cemetery in Flora.

Ms. Broyles was born May 19, 1913, in Clay City, the daughter of James Albert and Mary Belle (Neff) Broyles.

She was a 1937 graduate of Eastern Illinois State Teachers College. She was a rural school teacher in the Charleston community and worked at Charleston Community Hospital, where she retired in 1977. She was also a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers.

She is survived by one brother, Frank M. Broyles and his wife, Ethel, of Tucson, AZ; one nephew, William F. Broyles and his wife, Joan of Tucson, AZ; one niece, Ann L. Broyles; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
