Russell E. Eagleson, 71, of 2154 E Michigan St., Evansville, Indiana died Wednesday, December 19, 1984 at his home.  Services at Ziemer-Shears Funeral Home East, the Rev. Carol Barth officiating with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Russell was born June 5, 1913 in Richland County Illinois son of Roger Mills Eagleson and Bernice Eagleson.

Before retiring in 1978, he was a free-lance commercial artist.  He attended Chicago Academy of Arts and taught commercial art at Ivy Tech, Evansville.  He attended St. Lucas United Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife, the former Laura Effinger; a son, Jerry of Evansville; a daughter, Mrs. Suzanne Kneir of Cincinnati, Ohio; two step-daughters; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
