Russell Harold Colvin

Russell Harold Colvin, 83, of Hendersonville, N.C. died Wednesday July 1, 1998 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born July 18, 1914 in Ruso, N.D., the son of Thomas Clinton and Lora (Berry) Colvin. He was a resident of Henderson County for 16 1/2 years. He had lived most of his life in Illinois.

He received his Baccalaureate degree in business from the University of Illinois. He was employed by Chek-Chart in Chicago for 25 years as treasurer/comptroller, Arthur Anderson in Chicago and as business manager for American Institute of Banking in Chicago for five years.

He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville, N.C. He served in the Army during WW II. He was active in the Civitan Club, a volunteer for the Henderson County Library and a member of FISH Organization. He was a member of the Board of Local Improvements in Arlington Heights, the Plan Commission and a Village Board Trustee.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy F. Colvin of Hendersonville, N.C.; one son, Bruce Colvin of Clemmons, N.C.; one daughter, Susan Dukes of Bloomington, Ind.; three grandsons and one brother, William Colvin of Crystal River, Fla.
