Ruby Blakney, 76, Rt. 3, Olney died Monday July 10, 1989 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.  Funeral services at Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Gumble presiding. Burial in the Lick Prairie Cemetery in Wabash County.

Miss Blakney was born September 17, 1912 in Wabash County, the daughter of Gideon and Ella (Tarpley) Blakney.

She was a retired phone operator for G.T.E.  She was a member of Blain Church and attended Sanford Brown Business College in St. Louis.

Survivors include two brothers, Levi Blakney of Lake Worth, Texas and Stan Blakney of Grandbury, Texas; one sister, Mary Baltimore of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and three brothers preceded her in death.
