Oteal Stout (Hutton) - Class Of 1930

Mabel Oteal Hutton, 80, of Weslaco, Texas for the past 11 years, formerly of Peoria, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1993, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.

Born Dec. 19, 1912, in Sumner to Marion Otis and Nettie Sebright Stout, she married Leo L. Hutton. He died in 1978. She later married Mervyn Ruth. He died in 1983. She then married Carl Ermel. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Max R. Hutton of East Peoria, Gary K. Hutton of Dunlap and Joe E. Hutton of Washington; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Chester (Imogene) Cooper of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Mrs.Harry (MaryAnna) Robertson of Weslaco.

She earned a teaching degree from Eastern Illinois Teachers College in 1932 and taught in the Peoria area for 38 years. She was a member of the National and Illinois education associations.

Burial was in Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
