William Reed McCreery, 81. of Kirksville, Missouri died Saturday January 8, 1994 at the Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.  Burial in LaPlata Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.

Mr. McCreery was born April 13, 1912 in Shelby, Mich. the son of Andrew Jackson and Mamie (Reed) McCreery. He married Mary Elizabeth Brandon on April 3, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was a 1931 (sic) graduate of the Olney High School, Olney, Ill. In 1937 he received a bachelor of science degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Missouri. He served as an agricultural specialist for the University of Missouri Extension Service for over 30 years.  He had been a resident of Twin Pines Adult Care Center since July 1993.  He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church at LaPlata, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth of Kirksville, Mo.; a son, David William  of Arnold, Mo.; a daughter, Andrea Jackson of LaPlata, Mo.; a sister, Alberta McCreery of Olney; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. McCreery was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Paul Andrew McCreery and David Horace McCreery and a nephew.
