Wayne Walker

Wayne Walker, 47, of Ashland, Ohio, a former Decatur, Illinois resident and night club operator, died Tuesday, February 16, 1960 in his home.

Mr. Walker, a son of Columbus B. “Lum” and Dolly (Sams) Walker, was born June 7, 1912 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He was vice president of the Walker-Fauber Co., Inc. and had been associated with it for about 22 years, since leaving Decatur.

He married Lucille Hendrix on January 28, 1938 and she survives. Mr. Walker also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Henry Fauber of Ashland, Mrs. R.B. Witt of Sarasota, Fla and Mrs. P.F. Harrell of Olney and two brothers, Tice of West Salem and Glen of Ashland.

He was a member of Dugger, Indiana Lodge #721 A.F. & A.M. and the Elks Lodge of Olney, Illinois.

While in Decatur, Mr. Walker was an operator of the Hi-Hat, a night club in the Old Elks Country Club building on Lake Decatur. The building was destroyed by fire January 1, 1940.
