Rema S. Brown, 83, of Springfield died Sunday, November 19, 1995 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

She was born Jan. 9, 1912, in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of William A. and Joan Compton Stanley. She married Oden E. Brown in 1936.

Mrs. Brown had been a resident of Springfield since October 1993 and was formerly of Rochester, Mountain Grove, Mo., and Warrensburg. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Southside Christian Church.

Survivors: husband, Oden E. Brown of Springfield; two daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Carmen) Newby of San Jose, Calif., and Mrs. Rod (Elaine) Traughber of Warrensburg; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: Staab Funeral Home, with Robert Green officiating. Graveside service Newlin Cemetery, Robinson, with Joe Putnam officiating.
