Elizabeth James (Slade)

Mrs. Clara Elizabeth (James) Slade, 69, wife of Chester Slade of Staunton, Virginia died Wednesday, March 3, 1982 in a local nursing home.

She was born on December 17, 1912 in Pawnee, Illinois, a daughter of Mrs. Kathryn (Pick) James of Forsyth, Missouri and the late John G. James.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Charles Moore.

Prior to retirement, Mrs. Slade, a Registered Nurse, taught in the education department of Western State Hospital.

She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.

In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include a son, John Thomas Moore of Florissant, MO; two daughters, Mrs. M. Patricia Pleau of Vernon, Conn and Mrs. Beth Bartolacci of Pine City, NY; a brother, John G. James of Muscatine, IA; a sister, Mrs. Kathryn Fulford of Rockaway Beach, MO; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass offered in St. Francis Catholic Church with burial in Thornrose Cemetery.
