Estes Heckler, 75, Rt 2, Olney died Friday Dec. 18, 1987, at Richland Memorial Hospital.  Services in the Chapel of the Zirkle Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Ryan officiating.  Burial in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, south of Claremont.

Mr. Heckler was born July 9, 1912, in Richland County, the son of John and Mary (Provines) Heckler. He married Erma Spillman on Dec. 23, 1939, in Henderson, KY, who survives.

He was a farmer in the Claremont community and Claremont Township Road Commissioner for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He was also a member of the Mt . Pleasant United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Beverly Heckler of Plainfield, IN, one daughter and son-in-law, Bruce and Marilyn Arnold of Belleville; one brother, William Heckler of Lawrenceville; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
