Esther N. Yates, 92, of Olney died Sunday January 2, 2005 at Burgin Manor in Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with Reverend Sue Bailey officiating. Burial in Zion Cemetery in West Salem, IL.

Mrs. Yates was born on September 28, 1912 in West Salem, the daughter of Henry and Lucinda (Guyot) Gentz. She married Gerald Yates in 1936. He preceded her in death in 1975.  She was a homemaker and a member of Immanual United Methodist Church in Olney.

Mrs. Yates is survived by a daughter, Mary Kathryn Rotramel and her husband, Bill of Olney; and three nephews, Jerry Gentz of Michigan and John and Tim Yates both of West Salem.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Murph Gentz.
