Clarence Zerkle - Class Of 1934

Clarence M. Zerkle, 91, of Olney, formerly of Dundas died Tuesday February 15, 2005 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with Pastor Troy Warner officiating, burial in Dundas Cemetery.

Mr. Zerkle was born on January 27, 1914 in Richland County, the son of Louis and Leona (Miller) Zerkle. He married Gertrude Bennett on May 17, 1940 in Ripley, Tenn. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1998.

He worked at Prairie Farms for 23 years. He was also a mechanic and welder and owned and operated Zerkle Garage in Dundas for many years. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Church in rural Dundas.

Mr. Zerkle is survived by a daughter, Beverly Slater of Alma; a son, Dave Zerkle and his wife, Marianne of Dundas; a sister, Louise Myers of Olney; a brother, Francis "Bud" Zerkle of Dundas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Everett and Harold, a sister, Genevieve Burgener and a son-in-law, Joe Slater.
