James R. "Jack" Mullinax - Class Of 1938

James R. Jack Mullinax

Kankakee, Ill. - Jack R. Mullinax, age 89, died on Friday, January 7, 2011. A celebration of Life Funeral Mass at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church with Rev. Dennis Settles officiating.  Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Mullinax was born November 9, 1921, in Parkersburg, the son of Rollie E. and Cecile (Harris) Mullinax. He married Doris Dupuis on October 30, 1948, in Joliet. She preceded him in death.

He was a line foreman for Commonwealth Edison and retired after 40 years of service. He was a member of Kankakee Elks Club for more than 50 years and also a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church. Jack loved golfing, bowling, fishing and was even a former state of Illinois checkers champion. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Mr. Mullinax is survived by his 11 children, sons, Michael Mullinax, of Kankakee, Thomas (Cindy) Mullinax, of Gilbert, Ariz., James (Sandra) Mullinax, of Herscher, Jeff (Cindy) Mullinax, of Bourbonnais, and Greg Mullinax, of Kankakee; daughters, Jacqueline Ziemer, of Evansville, Ind., Judy (Michael) DeBouck, of Decatur, Mary (Greg) Brandt, of St. Louis, Mo., Lori Oswalt of Kankakee, Cathy (Brian) Pepin, of Manchester, Mo., and Sandy Hale, of Chatsworth; 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris and brother, Clyde Mullinax.
