Dustin Lee Brown, age 41, of Olney, Illinois, passed away Monday afternoon, August 28, 2023, at his home after a hard-fought battle with esophageal cancer. He was born March 24, 1982, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, the son of Robin Lee Brown and Myra Jane Murphy.  He was united in marriage to Sara Ellen Stanley on November 26, 2004, in Decatur, and together they have shared 18 wedding anniversaries.

Dustin worked as a delivery driver for FedEx and later was a property manager for Brad Williams in Olney before being diagnosed with cancer.  He lived to watch his children play sports, often officiating basketball and football games and umpiring baseball and softball games.  He had a love for sports and thoroughly enjoyed watching the Cardinals beat the Cubs.  Dustin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, cooking with Alexis, and enjoying a good meal.      

He is survived by his wife: Sara Brown of Olney; 3 children: Alexis, Ashton, and Brayden Brown, all of Olney; father: Rob (Donna) Brown of Olney; paternal grandmother: Linda Brown of Olney; stepsister: Tasha (Mike) Briggs; stepbrother: Bobby (Megan) Brooks; 3 uncles: David (Amy) Murphy of Olney, Michael Murphy of Bridgeport, and Arron (Linda) Brown of Olney; 2 aunts: Pat Murphy of Teutopolis and Sheila Brown of Olney; special grand dogs: Gunner, Evie, and Nala; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Myra Adkins; maternal grandparents: Paul and Rosemary Murphy; and paternal grandfather: Larry Brown.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Interment will follow in Ingraham Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
