Craig Stipp, 44, of Olney, passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 at his residence. Craig was born April 16, 1977 in Richland County, Illinois to Richard Stipp and Cheri (Easley) McDowell.

Craig enjoyed composing music and weight lifting. He had a passion for personal training and helping people achieve their weight loss goals. From a young age he was very athletic and had broken state records in track and field. After high school he ran track at Bethel College where he received a sports scholarship. He had a great sense of humor and a genuine smile. Craig was very creative and took pleasure in writing and making short films. He taught himself piano and his music came from his heart. Craig enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going on long bike rides, and going on walks with his dog, Carrera.

Craig Stipp is survived by his mother, Cheri McDowell and husband, Allen of Olney; father, Richard Stipp and wife, Vicki of Mt. Carmel; sister, MeLissa (Jim) Ramsey of Martinsville, Illinois; brothers, Kyle Stipp of Olney, and Blake, Brayden, and Beau Stipp of Mt. Carmel, Illinois; aunts, Kathy Crosley, Nancy (Matthew) Nix, and Phyllis Brian; step-grandmother, Helen McDowell; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. Interment will follow the service at Oskaloosa Cemetery in Clay County, Illinois.
