Charles Totten

Charles A. Totten, Jr., age 67, of Union Street passed away Sunday January 31, 1999 at Columbus Regional Hospital.  A memorial service held at Hope Moravian Church with Rev. David Bennett officiating.  Private inurnment at a later date at Hope Moravian Cemetery in Hope, Indiana.

Mr. Totten was born in Olney, Illinois May 9, 1931, the son of Charles Augustus and Fannie Mae Lyons Totten.  He married Kay Warren February 4, 1951 in Olney, Illinois.  She survives.

Mr. Totten was an architect and had owned Charles A. Totten Jr. A.I.A. since 1960. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, American Institute of Architecture and National Rifle Association.  He served as a first lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War.

Survivors are daughters, Jenni Ryan of Hayden and Debra Baker of Hope; sons, Mike Totten of Columbus and Andy Totten of Chicago; sisters, Charlene Graper of Haubstadt, Joann Kobernus of Virginia, Ill., and Mildred Navolt of Olney; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
