Gene Linton Smith, 70, a retired night club manager, died Friday, October 6, 2001 at a Fort Worth hospital. Mr. Smith was born May 22, 1931 in Centralia, Illinois, son of Wilson A. and Faye (Turner) Smith who preceded him in death.

Gene served in the United States Air Force and attended the University of Texas. He was a manager of Wet Willie’s Country Western Night Club in west Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, George Griggs.

Survivors include a brother, James F. Smith of Las Cruces, NM; nephew, James Charles of Little Rock, AR and Eugene Speed of Austin;  and a niece, Debbie Bujol of Ft. Worth.

Services of committal with burial at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
