Mary Ann (Kern) Galella, 90, of Toms River, New Jersey, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her four daughters, on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. She was born in Ste. Marie, IL, and raised in Olney, IL.

After high school, she lived and worked in Florida, followed by her favorite job, as a flight attendant for United Airlines, where she was posted in San Francisco and New York City. She met the love of her life, Joseph Galella, and married on November 29, 1958. They lived in Toms River, raising their family. Mary Ann worked as a secretary for Toms River OB/GYN Associates, and later for Cardiac Nuclear Associates in Toms River before retiring.

Mary Ann was pre-deceased by her husband Joseph in 2019.

She is survived by four daughters Elizabeth Galella, son-in-law William Honnen of Middletown; Faith Brosch, son-in-law Russell Brosch of Hockessin, DE; Margaret Galella and son-in-law Vaughan Scully of Brooklyn, NY; and Amy Czenis and son-in-law Kenneth Czenis, of Toms River. Mary Ann is survived by her 9 grandchildren, Gregory Honnen, Liam Honnen, Kate Honnen, Joseph Brosch and his wife Patricia Huerta, Michael Brosch, Samuel Scully, Hugo Scully, Sarah Czenis and Evan Czenis.

She is also survived by 2 brothers, Joseph Kern and wife Jayne, Palmdale, CA; and Michael Kern and wife Jan, Olney IL.

A celebration of Mary Ann's life will be held on January 28, 2022, at St. Joseph's Church, Toms River, where Mary Ann was a long-time parishioner. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
