John David "Dave" Eagleson, 91, of Olney, Illinois passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital.

Dave was born October 11, 1931 in Allendale, Illinois to Luphenous Alfred and Dorothy Louise (Weber) Eagleson. He married Rosemary "Posey" (Weber) Eagleson on November 25, 1951 in Olney. She preceded him in death on July 9, 2002.

Dave worked alongside his dad at Eagleson Automotive Center before becoming Co-Owner with his brother, Ted in 1971. He was the Service Manager and General Manager for many years until he retired in 1996. He served on the board of directors for the Olney Savings and Loan. In his younger years, Dave and Posey traveled the country participating in Sports Car Club of America events. Dave loved relaxing and boating on any body of water. He enjoyed bird watching and trying to outwit the thieving squirrels in his yard. Dave will be missed by those who knew him.

Dave is survived by his Daughter, Sue (Bob Sevin, Jr.) Eagleson of Richmond, TX; Son, Andrew Eagleson of Olney, IL; Brothers, Jim Eagleson of Washington D.C. and Lawrence Eagleson of Olney, IL; Sisters, Emily Schaub of Springfield, IL, Janet (Mike) David of Olney, IL, and Mary Lucia (John) Banks of Stevensville, MI; Sister-in-Laws, Marian Eagleson, Pamela Eagleson, Mimsie Coen, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; Brothers, Paul Eagleson and Ted W. Eagleson, Sr.; Sister, Dorothy Eagleson-Blackford; brother-in-law, John Coen.

Cremation Rites will be accorded, and no services are planned at this time.
