Norman Craig

Norman Ray Craig, 88, of Olney, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at his residence.  Norman was born on March 27, 1931 in Logan Co. IL, the son of Ray M. and Goldie B. (Hartleroad) Craig.  He married Doris Lee (McMurtry) on June 11, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Shawneetown, IL and she survives.

Norman worked for Baker Service Tools for 30 years and in the oilfield for most of his life. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran and served in the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart while in combat. Norman enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a kind and caring person, and everybody loved him. Norman will be sadly missed by all those that knew him. 

Norman is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris Craig of Olney; sons, Ernest Craig of Olney and Brian Craig and wife Dannette of Olney; grandchildren, Steve Craig, Heather (Darin) Wilkins, Rylan Craig, Kearsten (Jason) Givens, Klayton Craig, and Kylar Craig; great grandchildren, Macy Craig, Reese Wilkins, Raife Wilkins, Darien Wilkins, and Landon Givens; sister, Beverly K Ryberg and husband Tom; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Craig.
