Eleanor Joan Bridgman (Zeine)

Eleanor Joan Zeine, 80, of Pekin, passed away at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.

Born November 15, 1930, in Peoria, to Adam L. Bridgman and Lora O. Ridlen, she married Russell Lyle Zeine Sr. on August 28, 1950, in Glasford. He died April 21, 2008, in Toulon. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are three sons, Gordon Zeine, of Bartlett, Tenn., Bradford (Deanna) Zeine, of Glasford, and Russell (Anita) Zeine Jr., of Mapleton; one daughter, Marie (Doug) Haage, of Glasford; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Joan was a graduate of Olney Township High School. She worked as a school bus driver for Illini Bluffs in Glasford for 20 years. She later was a rural letter carrier for 11 years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of Charles D. Looger American Legion Post #35 Ladies Auxiliary in Glasford. Joan enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending summers in Minnesota with her family.

A graveside service held at Lancaster Cemetery in rural Glasford with Pastor Kathy Barrett officiating.
