Ruth Rudolphi (Martin)

Ruth Carolyn Martin, 76, Sedalia, Missouri, died Friday, September 1, 2006 at Bothwell Regional Helth Center in Sedalia.

She was born March 15, 1930, in Wendelin, Illinois to Adolph H. and Caroline (Fehrenbacher) Rudolphi. She was raised and educated in Wendelin and Olney, IL.

On November 13, 1948, in Olney, Illinois, she married Millard J. "Blackie" Martin. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1987. She moved to Sedalia, MO in 1971. She worked for Archias Floral Shop for 15 years and later she retired from Adco. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Elks Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, West Moreland Country Club, and the Sedalia Country Club. She had been a Cub Scout leader and a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed spectator sports and bingo.

Survivors include her fiance Herbert Washburn, Chanute, KS; two sons, David A. (Beverly) Martin of St. Peters, MO, and Thomas (Penny) Martin, Sedalia, MO; a daughter, Rebecca A. Richardson, Sedalia, MO; five grandchildren, J.B., Melissa, Adam, Michael, and Amanda Martin; three step-grandchildren, Cachet, Kristin, and Samantha Ash; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Blackie; and four brothers, Paul, Dan, Lowell, and Joe Rudolphi.
