Jo Ann Miracle (Lang)

JoAnn Miracle Lang, 83 of Dubois, Wyoming died May 6, 2013 at the Lund Family Hospice Home in Gilbert, Ariz.  A celebration of life held in Dubois.

JoAnn Miracle was born March 20, 1930 in Casper, Wyo. to Helen and Walter Miracle. She married Gene Lang on June 10, 1954 in Casper. She graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in sociology.

The couple owned Dubois Drug and Sundries in Dubois for 31 years. She described herself as a "glorified soda jerk."  She started Waterwheel Gifts and Books in 1981 and sold to her daughter, Kay Wells, in 1991. After retiring in 1995, she spent the winter months in Casa Grande, Ariz., returning to Dubois each year for the summer months.

Being ambassadors for the game of golf, Mrs. and Mr. Lang partnered with others in establishing Antelope Hills Golf Course in Dubois where she spent most of her summer days. She was an active volunteer in both Dubois and Casa Grande, helping with the summer square dances, the community food bank, her church and those in need.

She was a guiding light in the lives of her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay Wells and husband, Eric of Dubois, Jeri Kennedy of Casper and Beverly Affeldt and husband, Franz of Phoenix, Ariz.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to a hospice of choice.
