Betty L. Welker, 76, of Olney, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006, peacefully in her home in Olney.  Funeral services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Pastor Paul Goss will be officiating the ceremony. Interment in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Betty was born May 17, 1930 in Louisville to Ernest P. and Mildred Alice (Tolliver) Watkins. She married Wildon "Bill" Welker on August 14, 1948 at First Baptist Church in Olney.

She owned and operated the family business, Welker Paint and Wallpaper for the past 37 years. She was happiest in her store making picture frames and craft items while she diligently served her customers daily with a sweet smile and kind word. Betty was a faithful member and served the First Assembly of God Church in Olney for 30 years.

Survivors include: husband, Wildon "Bill" Welker; children, daughter, Beverly Dillard and husband Wendelll of Centerville, TX, daughter, Nancy Rinnert and husband Max of Pensacola, FL, son, Steven Welker of Olney, son, James Welker and wife Lynne of Dundas; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by mother, Mildred Watkins and step-father Ernest Watkins.
