Dorothy "Dottie" Irene Barnes,  83 of Mesa, Arizona passed away Monday October 29, 2012 at the Coming Home Senior Care Home in Mesa.  Dorothy was born July 30, 1929 in Olney,  the daughter of Ernest Herrin and Aileen Hillis. She had resided in Mesa since the mid 80's after marrying Jack Barnes of Rockford, Illinois.

She was a member of the Sweet Adelines International for thirty years first in St. Louis and later in Scottsdale and Chandler, Arizona.  She enjoyed raising Cocker Spaniel puppies.

Dorothy is survived by a brother, Robert Herrin and his wife Gaile of Olney and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Barnes and a step-son.
