Gerald Robert Miller

Gerald Robert Miller, 85 of St. Charles, Illinois passed away peacefully July 6, 2015 at home surrounded by his family.  Memorial services at New Covenant Bible Church, St. Charles.

Gerald was born November 16, 1929 in Olney, Illinois, a son of Ralph Herman and Esther Marie (Linder) Miller.  He married Kay Gower March 10, 1951 and she survives.

Gerald worked at IBM for 35 years, but faith defined his life. For the Free Methodist Church, for example, he wore most every hat: chairing building committees, being secretary to the conference board, and 3-time delegate to the General Conference. They made lasting friendships, even keeping up with friends made from their earliest years together. Gerald, with Kay, led a life of service, mentoring many, and generously supporting a host of ministries.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Kay Gower Miller;  son, Daniel; daughters Kathryn, Linda and Sandra Kay; ten grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great granddaughters; brother, Roy (cl of 52);  sisters, Helen (cl of 44);  Dorthy (cl of 55) and Judy (cl of 63).

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Janet who died in 1995.
