Mrs. Maxine Gibson, 69, died Tuesday, January 1, 1996 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield. She had been in the Skilled Care Unit there since November 21 of last year.  Cremation rites were accorded.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Jeane (Wanda) Doan of Albion; one brother, Warren Whitaker of Claremont; three nieces and two nephews.

She had worked as a waitress.

Born September 1, 1926 in Richland County her parents were George N. and Nellie Dean Whitaker.

She was preceded by her parents and one brother, Wayne Whitaker.
