M. J. “Blackie” Martin, 60, of Sedalia, Missouri died Tuesday, June 30, 1987 at the Columbia Regional Hospital in Columbia, Mo.  Funeral services at the McLaughlin Chapel in Sedalia, Mo. with burial in Memorial Park in Sedalia.

Mr. Martin was born on July 25, 1926 in Jasper County to Millard A. and Ada Martin. He married Ruth Rudolphi on November 13, 1948 in Olney. She survives.

He was a retail manager for Montgomery Ward for 35 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David A. Martin of St. Peter, Mo. and Thomas R. Martin of Sedalia; one daughter, Rebecca A. Richardson of St. Clair, Mo.; his mother, Ada Martin of Olney and five grandchildren.

His father preceded him in death.
