Norma L. (Cralle) Wheat, 89, of Olney passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Helia Healthcare in Olney.  Services at Elm Street Christian Church with burial in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL.

Norma was born September 11, 1926 in Richland County, IL, the daughter of Samuel and Ethel (Gard) Cralle.  She married Jack Ellis Wheat on May 28, 1959 in Olney.  He preceded her in death on December 27, 2011.

Norma graduated Olney Township High School.  She worked at General Telephone of Illinois for ten years.  In later years she worked for Drew's Appliance, Olney Greenhouse, and the Lantern Shop.  Norma was a Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching their ball games.  She was a member of Elm Street Christian Church in Olney.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Sterchi of Olney; sisters-in-law, Peggy Koertge-Dunahee and Nadine Ashbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and four sisters, Geneva Wenk, Marjorie Poorman, Eloise Harmon, and Virginia Stevens.
