Betty Jean Baker, age 88, of Parkersburg, IL, passed away on May 2, 2014 at 11:53 pm.at her residence. Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home with burial in Marion Christian Church Cemetery.

Betty was the only child of Lea Roy Baker and Louise F Reckling Baker born on April 11, 1926 in rural Parkersburg, IL. She married Harold "Buck" Baker on July 14, 1945 in Richland County. He proceeded her in death on June 25, 1987.

Betty is survived by three children: Nancy Cowling of West Salem, Robert "Bob" (Rhonda) Baker of Mt. Carmel and William "Bill" Baker and friend Becky Dicus of West Salem; four grandchildren: Brenda (Jahue) Briggs of West Salem, Anita (Mark) Pettigrew of Mt. Carmel, Christopher(Terri) Baker of West Salem and Kimberly (Jason) Almiro of Chicago. Great grandchildren: Harold "Robby" Briggs of Olney, Mariah (Caleb) Barber of El Paso, TX, Mallory Baker of Bowling Green, KY, Colton Baker of Grapevine, TX and Carlee Leeann Baker of Tulsa, OK. Four step-grandchildren: Jason and Jennifer Briggs, Crystal Smith and Cody Skees; and two great-great grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
