John Edward Steward, 55, Vincennes and formerly of Olney, died suddenly Sunday, February 1, 1981 in Vincennes. Services at the First Church of God in Vincennes, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Steward was born October 11, 1925. He attended Olney Township High School.

Survivors include five sisters, Ada and Anna Steward both of Olney; Pauline Quillen, West Salem; Margaret Schonert, Claremont; and Frances Jones, Pierre, S.D.; three daughters and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.
