Buena Slater (King)

Buena Vista (Slater) King, one of eleven children born to Buena Vista (Miller) Slater and Joe Slater of Olney, Illinois August 9, 1925, passed away in Auburn, Washington, May 3, 2015.

She was married to Clifton L. King, December 30, 1945 who preceded her in death Feb. 11, 2005.

Mrs. King is survived by three sons and a daughter: Clifton L. King Jr. and A. Fred King of Spokane, Washington; Howard G. King of Cottonwood, California; and Kerri L. LeRoy of Tacoma, Washington. She is also survived by ten (10) grandchildren and six (6) great grand children. Richard E. Slater of Gulfport, Mississippi is her only living sibling.

Mrs. King was born and reared in Olney, Illinois and attended Olney High School from 1939 to 1943. She moved with her husband to Spokane, Washington during 1946. Mrs. King, with her family, traveled extensively due to Mr. King's occupation and was fortunate to have lived in Africa and Europe for a period of years before returning to Spokane in 1972. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and will be missed in life; however, she lives in loving memory.
