Loy Ivan Mackey, age 58, Chief MSgt., U.S. Air Force Retired, of Oak Hill Texas, died Saturday, March 24, 1984. Loy was born September 21, 1925 in Olney, Illinois son of Wilford and Annabell (Scranton) Mackey.

After attending night school, Loy joined the Army Air Force and graduated from Cadet School in 1945. In 1950 he married Idalene Schumane of Ledbetter. During his 23 years in the Air Force, he was stationed in Panama, Japan, Korea, Puerto Rico and England.

He is survived by his wife, Idalene; sons, David and Eric; daughter, Debra Strange; stepfather, Wallace Bates of Martinsville, Illinois; grandmother, Anna Scranton of Olney, Illinois; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and two daughters-in-law and one son-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
