Ellagwyn Billingsley (Saulmon)

Doris Saulmon, 83, of Kingwood, Texas and formerly of Olney died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Humble, Texas.  Services at Star Hope Chapel at Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Claremont with Max Borah officiating. Burial in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Saulmon was born on July 21, 1925 in Olney the daughter of Artie E. and Verdie Mae (Borah) Billingsley. She married Charles Harmon Saulmon on March 24, 1943. He survives.

After graduating from East Richland High School, she was married in San Diego, Calif. to Mr. Saulmon. She lived in Elk City, Oklahoma, Houma, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi and retired to Kingwood, Texas where she last resided. She was a proud member of the Lady Houston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Kingwood, Texas. She was also a faithful member of Kingwood United Methodist Church. She worked as a secretary at Clinton-Sherman AFB in Oklahoma; for the USDA in Jackson, Mississippi and for a bank in Houma, Louisiana, but her favorite job was as wife and mother.

Mrs. Saulmon is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Harmon Saulmon of Kingwood, Texas; daughter, connie Beth Burch of Binghamton, N.Y.; daughter, Ginger Kay Parks of Kingwood, Texas; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sister, Dorothea Swinson of Watertown, Wis.; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Cynthia Sue Saulmon.
