After a long and full life, Cleo Elizabeth Russell, 90, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of West Salem, slipped away on Friday, May 16, 2003.  There were no services.

Mrs. Russell was born on June 26, 1912, in West Salem.

She spent the latter portion of her life in Tucson, Ariz., where her son resides. She was a wonderful cook, avid reader and truly loved to travel. Her biggest thrill was a cruise-ship vacation at the age of 81. She was a warm, caring mother-in-law.

Mrs. Russell is survived by a son, Gary Russell and his wife, Judy, of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Duane Russell and Laura Mitchell and her husband, Greg, all of Tucson, Ariz.; three great-grandchildren, Bradina, Skyler and Brooke, all of Tucson, Ariz.; and a brother Gene of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herchel, her parents, one brother and three sisters.
