Miss Powell was also a wonderful mentor to many young woman who followed her into the nursing profession—at a time lacking in encouragement for girls seeking advanced education.

Thank you, Miss Powell.

Kathryn Haenggi Robinett, R.N., B.S.N., M.P.H.

Mary Powell was an excellent health provider to students, and an inspiration for those who entered the nursing field.  She took the Future Nurses Club on many field trips to explore nursing programs, one of which I entered.  In addition to hospital and public health, I was a school nurse for over 20 years.
