Kate Cutter Bower (Latin 1930-)

Mrs. Catherine A. "Kate" Bower of 426 East North Avenue, widow of Ernst Z. Bower, former owner of Bower's Drug Store, passed away last night, January 17, 1952 at Olney Sanitarium.

Mrs. Bower was a remarkable woman. Generally known as "Kate" she was one of the finest instructors ever to teach in Olney High School. Her Latin courses were out-standing and her influence was considerable on many young men and women, especially those who went ahead for higher education.

Following her retirement in the 1930's after having taught in Olney high school for almost thirty years, she assisted in operation of Bower's Drug Store until it was sold to Walter Forney five years ago.

Mr. Bower passed away on October 19, 1950.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Oras Cutter of Aurora, Indiana and two nephews, Richard Cutter, Jr. of Cleves, Ohio and Robert Cutter of Indianapolis.

Funeral services at Schaub Funeral Home with Rev. H.L. Main in charge. Interment at Haven Hill Cemetery.
