Hugh Bryan Ryals, 35, of Calhoun died Friday August 31, 2001 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.  His body was donated to science.

Mr. Ryals was born on August 25, 1966 in Mena, Arkansas, the son of Victor and Sarah Pauline (Runyon). He married Ruth Persinger on June 14, 2000. She survives.

He was a yardman at J.D. Hurn & Sons in Olney.

Mr. Ryals is survived by his mother, Sarah Pauline Runyon Ryals of Calhoun; his wife, Ruth Ryals of Calhoun; two brothers, Sanuel Ryals and his wife, Marsha of Niles, Mich. and John William Ryals and his wife, Donna of Claremont; a sister, Patricia Meador and her husband, Don of Mena, Ark.; and best friends, Stephen and Cheri Guyer of Olney; a step-daughter, Ruth Jackson and a step-son, Willis Yancey.

He was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Mary Grace and a brother, Ricky Ryals.
