 Jamie GibsonJamie Alan Gibson, 46, of Olney, died Sunday, August 30, 2015 at his residence, after a bout with cancer.  Services at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney with burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Jamie was born December 28, 1968 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Paul and Lena (Nelson) Gibson.  He married Emily Auton on September 8, 1989 in Paducah, Kentucky. 

Jamie was a prankster and enjoyed making people laugh. He had a strong faith in God and never let his disease affect his outlook on life.  Jamie took an active role in his children's lives by supporting their activities; sports, 4-H, hunting, fishing, and became the only male Girl Scout in Richland County so he could participate in their scouting.  He was also involved with his church, Faith Bible Church, and volunteered for CBC.  He also was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and the Make A Wish Foundation.  Jamie was a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Emily Gibson of Olney; daughters, Dakota (Steven) Byers of Louisville, IL, Caitlan (Jon) Willison of Decatur, IL, Madison Gibson of Olney, and Whitney Gibson of Olney; son, Caden Gibson of Olney; mother, Lena Gibson of Olney; sister, Cherie Nelson of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, sisters, Debbie Lynne Gibson and Paula Renee Morgan, and brother, Jody Gibson.
